Intuition is a natural sense that we all possess as humans, which is the ability to be receptive to emotional, physical and spiritual energy within us and around us. Our brain is an electrochemical organ which transmits frequencies, or electrical currents that can be measured in Hertz, (cycles per second). It is often easier to access the intuitive/artistic part of our mind when we our brains are functioning in Alpha or Theta waves.
Intuition is a natural sense most people have experienced. Have you ever had a dream that something is going to happen before it does? Have you ever 'just known' when a loved one is going through a hard time and given them a call? Have you ever got the feeling to avert a path that later proved it would have been detrimental? Have you ever felt that you received a 'sign', or guidance?
These senses are most commonly processed while dreaming, yet there is a way to access them while functioning between Alpha and Theta brainwaves. Art, music, ritual, and meditation are often used to induce this state of 'conscious dreaming'. Though everyone has this natural sense to some extent, an intuitive develops the ability to access this part of their mind at will.
The Intuition is our spiritual 'antenna', and can be 'tuned into' different sources. In India they call this part of the intuitive body 'The Third Eye'. Intuitive people have also been known for being able to reach into the mysteries and extract information. A great variety of explanation is attached to this ability, each differing in it's perspective. We must remember that whatever we choose to believe in, our mind will then adjust to give us experiences according to our beliefs.
Intuitive people have been part of every cultures throughout history, and go by many titles, each with a unique set of skills. In time periods such as the Inquisition, we were taught to fear and loath our own natural ability, and countless people were unjustly murdered. Today these gifts are again being recognized and valued in our society.
